When we left Genoa we still had the hope to find some interesting houses on the coast. We were dreaming. That part of Italy is quite touristic which means a lot of small town along the seashore. We stopped in Ventimiglia to enjoy a last Italian meal and then we crossed the border.
We came back to France on December 23th, or 164 days after we left Hanoi. We stayed there just enough time to take a picture and then kept driving. We slept in Senas where Quentin’s sister lives. The following morning we headed for Gordes to check out « les bories ». These stones houses are typical from Vaucluse and Bouches du Rhone two region from of France. The oldest ones are for late 18th century or beginning of 19th. It used to be second houses for farmer when their lands were far away from their houses.
A lot of interesting things to study but it not a lot are occupied nowadays. Plus it was december 24th so we couldn’t visit any. We took some contact for next time we’ll come. The next step was the Senanque Abbey which was built in the 12th century. And then we went to Fontaine de Vaucluse which reminded us Bagajl that we saw in Bosnia.
It is only when we got to Avignon that we split. It was time for us to join our families. After five month and half living together almost everyday I think it’s safe to say that it was both a release and sad to say goodbye to each other. This entry was posted in News
